Britney Spears appears on “The Late Show With David Letterman” on Tuesday

On Tuesday night, Britney Spears made her first appearance on “The Late Show With David Letterman” in nearly three years. This time, the singer, who kicks off the second leg of her Circus tour this week, decided to step up the sexy and appear in a bikini.
In the pre-taped segment, Spears sat atop a desk to read off “Top 10 Ways the Country Would Be Different if Britney Spears Were President.” The singer showed off her comic side naming reasons like, “We would only invade fun places like Cabo,” “Free pie for everyone,” “Three words: Vice President Diddy” and, “I’d be the first president to wear eye shadow since Nixon.”
Spears also delved into more serious current events with #4: “America might have a more coherent fiscal strategy.” And then she poked fun at her own omnipresence with #1: “Finally the media would pay attention to me.”
Both the crowd and Letterman, who was also joined by Diane Kruger and Donald Trump on Tuesday, seemed amused by the singer’s first appearance on the show since November 2006, when Spears had recently given birth to her son Jayden and was splitting from her then husband, Kevin Federline.
Then, instead of joking about her potential as the leader of the free world, she joked about how excited she was to see Letterman, first claiming to be a fan of the host but later clarifying that she was actually a fan of Will Ferrell, a guest on the show that night.
Spears hits the road again this week for her Circus tour, where she’ll be joined by opening acts Jordin Sparks, Kristinia DeBarge, Girlicious and One Call. Earlier this month, Spears appeared on the Teen Choice Awards where she was presented with the Ultimate Choice surfboard by Miley Cyrus.
