Not only has Regina Spektor already headlined the very large McCarren Pool venue, she has since gone on to gain extra exposure thanks to a duet she recorded with Ben Folds for his new album. It goes without saying then that the show she’s playing at the medium-sized Bowery Ballroom on January 22nd will sell out very quickly. The show is called the “3rd Annual Roe On The Rocks”, and all the money goes to Planned Parenthood. $35 tickets go on American Express and Planned Parenthood presale on Wednesday at noon. Regular Ticketmaster sale starts Friday.
Speaking of dueting with Regina Spektor and Bowery Ballroom, tickets are still on sale for the NYC show Sondre Lerche is playing there on November 20th.
The official Ben Folds video for the Regina song, and video of Regina and Ben performing it on Jimmy Kimmel, below…

Fun Fun Fun Fest takes place in Austin, Texas on November 8th and 9th. If you haven’t already, check out the ridiculous lineup and schedule. The only unfortunate thing, with four separate stages, is how many bands you have to make decisions to miss. For instance, you have to miss Clipse and CYHSY to see Bad Brains. You can’t see The National or Neil Hamburger if you watch all of the Dead Milkmen. Municipal Waste (who replaced Flipper on the bill) overlaps with Rival Schools. Frustrating, but good problems to have.
One and two day tickets are still on sale. I also have a two day pass (worth $60) to give away. To get it….
TO WIN: email BVCONTESTS@HOTMAIL.COM (subject: FFF). Include your first and last name. One winner will be picked at random and contacted. Contest ends Wednesday November 5th, 2008 at noon.

DOWNLOAD: Department of Eagles - No One Does it Like You (MP3)

Parker Posey, Bobby Cannavale, Tunde Adibempe & Kyp Malone (of TV on the Radio) were just added the already-impressive lineup of Paul Simon, Department of Eagles, and others playing Town Hall on October 7th. Tickets are still on sale.
Department of Eagles are also playing a (BrooklynVegan presents) show at the Bell House in Brooklyn one day earlier on October 6th which will also be their first live show unless you count Conan O’Brien where they’ll be performing the song “No One Does It Like You” on Wednesday, October 1st.
You can buy DoE’s album In Ear Park right now exclusively on iTunes. It goes on sale everywhere else on October 7th. I have a pair of tickets to giveaway to the Bell House show. To win, email BVCONTESTS@HOTMAIL.COM (subject: DoE). Include your first and last name. One winner will be picked at random and contacted.
